From the Desk of Provost
Welcome to UHW!
UHW is a prestigious hall of the University of Delhi. It was established under the erudite leadership of Prof. Swarup Singh. It is the largest women’s hall of the University of Delhi that accommodate around three hundred female students.
It is my honour to welcome all the students to this ‘Home away from home’ that takes care of the primary residential, medical and social environment.
UHW was developed with the idea to support women on the path of their academic journey while being in a professional set of residence. In order to facilitate the residents and provide them with enriching experiences UHW seeks support of the respective union members elected by the residents.
UHW team comprises of the Provost, warden and RT. The team seeks the guidance and support of the managing committee.
UHW team hopes that you will enjoy your stay and flourish in your respective domains.

An Appeal to all Residents
We sincerely appeal to all residents of the University Hostel for Women to uphold harmony, discipline, and mutual respect within the hostel premises. All residents are requested to refrain from spreading rumours, engaging in disputes, or participating in any activity that may adversely affect the dignity of the hostel or the reputation of the University.
The hostel serves as a “Home away from Home” for students belonging to diverse states, cultures, and backgrounds. Being the oldest women’s hostel of the University of Delhi, it carries a legacy of excellence and decorum. It is, therefore, our collective responsibility to maintain an atmosphere of mutual understanding, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence.
In the event of any issue or grievance, residents are advised to approach the hostel administration directly, rather than relying on or circulating unverified information.
All residents are urged to remain patient, composed, and responsible in their conduct, and to strictly adhere to the guidelines and instructions issued by the administration.
Let us collectively strive to preserve the safety, dignity, and positive environment of our hostel community.

छात्रावास निवासियों से अपील
हम विश्वविद्यालय महिला छात्रावास की समस्त निवासिनी छात्राओं से विनम्र एवं गंभीरतापूर्वक अपील करते हैं कि वे छात्रावास परिसर में सौहार्द, अनुशासन तथा पारस्परिक सम्मान की गरिमा को अक्षुण्ण बनाए रखें। कृपया किसी भी प्रकार की निराधार एवं अप्रमाणित सूचनाओं के प्रसारण, अनावश्यक विवादों में सहभागिता अथवा ऐसे किसी भी अनुचित आचरण से पूर्णतः विरत रहें, जो छात्रावास की गरिमा, उसकी प्रतिष्ठित परंपराओं तथा विश्वविद्यालय की साख एवं नैतिक छवि को आघात पहुँचा सकता हो।
यह छात्रावास विविध राज्यों, संस्कृतियों एवं सामाजिक पृष्ठभूमियों से आई छात्राओं के लिए वास्तविक अर्थों में “घर से दूर घर” का स्नेहमय परिवेश प्रदान करता है। दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के प्राचीनतम महिला छात्रावास के रूप में यह उत्कृष्ट परंपराओं, मर्यादाओं एवं उच्च आदर्शों की गौरवशाली विरासत का संवाहक है। अतः इस गरिमामय वातावरण में पारस्परिक समझ, सहयोग, सहिष्णुता तथा शांतिपूर्ण सहअस्तित्व को सुदृढ़ बनाए रखना हम सभी का सामूहिक दायित्व है।
यदि किसी प्रकार की समस्या अथवा शिकायत उत्पन्न होती है, तो निवासिनी छात्राएँ सीधे छात्रावास प्रशासन से संपर्क करें तथा अप्रमाणित सूचनाओं पर विश्वास करने या उनका प्रसार करने से बचें।
आप सभी से अपेक्षा की जाती है कि धैर्य, संयम एवं उत्तरदायित्वपूर्ण आचरण का परिचय देते हुए प्रशासन द्वारा समय-समय पर जारी दिशा-निर्देशों एवं नियमों का अक्षरशः पालन करें।
आइए, हम सब मिलकर अपने छात्रावास की सुरक्षा, गरिमा एवं सकारात्मक शैक्षणिक वातावरण को संरक्षित एवं सुदृढ़ बनाए रखने का संकल्प लें।
